Lace Cowl Knitting Workshop
Saturday, February 21, 2026
10 AM–2 PM
Advance your knitting skills in this intermediate workshop at Strawbery Banke. Guided by Museum instructors, you’ll work on a stylish lace cowl using the Feather and Fan stitch, a classic pattern that creates graceful waves and texture.
Participants should already be comfortable with casting on and off, knitting, increasing, and decreasing. You’ll learn to read lace patterns, work in the round, and gain confidence in shaping with increases and decreases. By the end of the session, you’ll take home a wearable lace cowl and the skills to continue lace knitting on your own.
Materials to Bring:
— One pair of 24" circular knitting needles, sz 5
— One ball of fingering to DK weight yarn
Or, pre order a kit at checkout and your instructor will have it ready for you. Kits include needles and yarn for class ($30).
This workshop is suitable for ages 16 and older and limited to 8 participants. Members $45; Nonmembers $55.
