Guided Garden Tours

Tour offered at 11 AMExpert guides will take you on a journey through time in the historic gardens and landscapes and teach about the careful stewardship and maintenance that goes into preserving the living collection. Note: a general museum admission ticket is required to take the guided garden tour.

Guided Behind The Scenes Tours
Offered Saturdays–Sundays and select Fridays
July 5-October 26, 2025
Tours offered at 10:30 AM, 12 PM, and 2 PMIn a small group setting led by an expert guide, gain access to the Museum’s only surviving First Period home. Note: a general museum admission ticket is required to take the guided behind the scenes tour.

Offered Tuesdays through October 21, 2025
Tours offered at 10 AM, 11 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM, and 2 PMJoin a 90-minute guided tour of four historic homes (Tuesdays only) showcasing three centuries of New England history. Your ticket includes a self-guided visit the next day.

Arrival times begin at 5:00 PM and 6:00 PMStep into Halloween magic as you trick-or-treat outdoors from house to historic house, guided by the glow of carved pumpkins, candle boxes, and string lights in Portsmouth's oldest waterfront neighborhood.
