Crochet a Granny Square Hot Pad

Learn the basics of crochet while creating a traditional granny square hot pad at Strawbery Banke. Participants will use naturally flame-resistant wool yarn to make a functional piece inspired by a textile found in the Pridham House kitchen.

With step-by-step guidance from Museum instructors, learn how to read a crochet chart, form foundational stitches, and add a finished border. At the end of the workshop, take home a completed hot pad and the skills to continue crocheting.

Workshop Details: Beginner level. No prior crochet experience is required. Suitable for ages 16 and older. Limited to 8 participants. All materials are provided. Members $55; Nonmembers $65.
