Join Strawbery Banke for the opening reception of Revolutionary Portsmouth, a new exhibition at Strawbery Banke Museum celebrating America’s 250th and exploring the seaport city’s role in the American Revolution.
Before Lexington and Concord, Portsmouth was already stirring with Revolution. Through broadsides, objects, decorative arts, and lived stories, the exhibition reveals how the Revolution shaped daily life across homes, streets, waterfront spaces, and civic networks—including the contributions of local Black residents.
Please enter through the Lawrence J. Yerdon Visitors Center, 14 Hancock Street, Portsmouth, NH.
Remarks will be shared by Linnea Grim, President and CEO, Thomas W. Haas Endowed Chair. Light refreshments will be served. No RSVP is necessary.
