In a small group setting led by an expert guide, gain access to the Museum’s only surviving First Period home. Learn about the impact of sea-level rise on the structure, discover what Archaeology tells us about the Sherburne family’s home and garden, and  uncover the architecture and hidden decorative features.  You'll discover how all of these elements—environmental changes, archaeological research, and architectural history—are shaping the Museum’s future plans for preservation and interpretation. Additionally, experience hands-on elements and ample time for questions. This exclusive tour lasts approximately 60 minutes.

The tour begins at the Admissions Desk in the Lawrence J. Yerdon Visitors Center about 5 minutes before the start of the tour. Each tour has a capacity of 10 people and is recommended for ages 12 and older. Strawbery Banke Museum reserves the right to cancel any guided tour with fewer than two confirmed guests.

Please note that access to the Sherburne House requires climbing stairs and is not wheelchair accessible. Click here for more information on accessibility efforts.
