About the event:
Trick-or-treat safely outdoors from house to historic house with Jack-o'-lanterns lighting the way in Portsmouth's oldest waterfront neighborhood. Meet wayward pirates and a mysterious fortune-teller, listen to ghostly tales, construct a giant spider web, dance to spooky musical tunes, and play games for prizes. Additionally, enjoy frighteningly fun shopping at Pickwick's At the Banke, the Museum store.
Ghosts on the Banke is a family-friendly event designed to be spooky, not scary.
A variety of opportunities are available for both nights of the event. Costumes encouraged! Volunteers should be 18+. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Parking in the Strawbery Banke Museum lot, located at 14 Hancock Street, is extremely limited. With the expected attendance of this event, it is highly unlikely that members and visitors will find a parking spot in the Museum's lot. Event attendees are encouraged to park at nearby offsite parking options including:
- Hanover Street Garage (near Market Square)
- Foundry Place Garage (near Sheraton, Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn & Suites).
