Guided Behind The Scenes Tours

Tours offered at 10:30 AM, 12 PM, and 2 PMIn a small group setting led by an expert guide, gain access to the Museum’s only surviving First Period home. Note: a general museum admission ticket is required to take the guided behind the scenes tour.

Guided Thanksgiving Tours
November 1-2, 8-9, 15-16, 22-23, & 28-30, 2025
10 AM, 11 AM, 11:30 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM, 1:30 PM & 2 PMJoin expert guides for a 90-minute tour exploring three centuries of Thanksgiving traditions. Travel through time and visit four historic houses to learn how this holiday has evolved.

Ghosts on the Banke

Arrival times begin at 5:00 PM and 6:00 PMStep into Halloween magic as you trick-or-treat outdoors from house to historic house, guided by the glow of carved pumpkins, candle boxes, and string lights in Portsmouth's oldest waterfront neighborhood.

Candlelight Stroll

Arrival times begin at 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM.Step back in time and experience the magic of the season. Tour decorated historic houses, stroll candle-lit lanes, and interact with costumed roleplayers, carolers, and traditional craftspeople.

Stroll Sponsor-A-Tree Program
Strawbery Banke invites organizations and individuals to sponsor and decorate a tree for this year’s Candlelight Stroll. Sponsor-A-Tree participants will receive a 6–7 foot tree in a beautiful grove at the Museum, ready for decorating, along with a sign featuring their logo or name displayed in front of their tree. -

Holiday Wreath Fundraiser
Decorate your home and add a touch of heritage this holiday season with a wreath handcrafted by the Strawbery Banke Landscape Horticulture Department. With locally foraged materials, including mixed evergreens, pinecones, and vibrant winterberry, these wreaths are the perfect way to adorn your front door for the season.
