Pickwick’s at the Banke , the museum store complements Strawbery Banke with a shopping experience reflecting Portsmouth’s colonial maritime heritage, welcoming visiting schoolchildren as well as museum visitors and local shoppers with a uniquely theatrical shopping experience.

Located at 43 Atkinson Street (on the corner of Court and Atkinson) on the museum campus, the store is open to the general public. No museum ticket is required to shop at Pickwick’s at the Banke.

Described as a ‘magical space’ featuring local art, artisans and products; Pickwick’s at the Banke combines some of the feel of the old Dunaway General Store, the neighborhood community of the museum’s recreated Abbott Store and the touch of theatre by which Pickwick’s Mercantile on State Street distinguished itself. The store is designed to be a nostalgic space that’s accessible to a new generation again, we believe, you cannot help but enjoy being here and gallivanting through time.
