Trace the evolution of Thanksgiving in this active, fast-paced, and multi-sensory program. Discover how Thanksgiving transcended time, place and culture to become the uniquely American holiday celebrated today. Try old-fashioned cooking, talk with costumed roleplayers and make a toy to take home. In small groups guided by a museum educator, participants find the common themes of this holiday over four centuries: charity, gratitude and the celebration of family and community. Upon arrival, families and students are divided into smaller groups of roughly 12 people. A History of Thanksgiving is a family program designed for children ages 5-12. Those ages 5 to 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult. 9-12 year olds can participate without an accompanying adult.

$12.00 per student (ages 5 +), 1 adult per family free, additional adults $8.00. Family, Friend, Supporter, Patron, & Benefactor level Members receive 50% off
