Come and meet the Ghosts on the Banke at Strawbery Banke’s famous Halloween celebration. Long-dead sea captains, 17th century shopkeepers and wayward pirates haunt the streets of Portsmouth’s oldest neighborhood as you trick or treat safely from house to historic house. Tickets available at the door. $8 per person (adult or child over 1 year old; children 1 or under, free). Half-price admission for members.
Jack-O-Lanterns light the way to step over the threshold of time and meet the "Ghosts on the Banke." Discover pirate treasure, visit with the wacky witch, look into the future with guidance from the gypsy fortune teller.
Catch a Ghostly Tale
Community members bring history back to life with spooky plays, skits, and interactive improvisation throughout the evening.

Masques on the Banke (Sunday only)
Step "Behind the Mask" as the majestic black Friesian horses of Runnymede Farm perform their equestrian ballet. US Premiere of a choreographed equestrian dressage seen only in Europe. Ticket holders will also be able to meet the horses, enjoy a mask-making craft for Halloween and additional special guests, Ravenbane's Firecraft.
5:30 – “Behind the Mask” - Historic Runnymede Farm performs synchronized moves onboard Friesian horses, to mysterious music - in beautiful Halloween costumes.
5:35 - Meet the horses and riders of Historic Runnymede Farm.
5:45 – Make your own mask – Kids can create their own masquerade-style face mask just like the riders from Runnymede Farm. Continues all evening.
6:00 - Ravenbane's Firecraft performs high energy feats of beauty and daring with fire
6:30 – “Behind the Mask” performance in Mexican "Day of the Dead" costumes.
