Volunteers Needed for April 13th Earth Day Garden Cleanup at Strawbery Banke Museum
Portsmouth, New Hampshire – Spring is in full bloom and Strawbery Banke’s Baby Animals: Heritage Breeds on the Banke takes place April 20-28th, so the Museum is inviting volunteers to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 13th as a volunteer for Garden Cleanup Day, 8:30am-12:30pm. An annual tradition, the Earth Day volunteers help accomplish what would otherwise be three months of work in just a few hours. Rain date: Sunday, April 14th.
Morning refreshments donated by Starbucks and lunch, following the Garden Cleanup will be pizza from Flatbread Company of Portsmouth and a slow food potluck (volunteers also welcome for the lunch.) Slow Food Seacoast will conduct a seed swap and will give away free heirloom seeds with strong regional ties.
Volunteers should arrive at the Tyco Visitors Center at Strawbery Banke Museum for work assignments and refreshments at 8:30am and are asked to bring along gardening tools and gloves. The pot luck lunch will follow at 12:30. RSVP Requested. Please contact Alena Shellenbean at 603-422-7504 or volunteers 'AT' sbmuseum 'DOT' org
