The volunteer program at Strawbery Banke plays a vital role in fulfilling the Museum’s mission. Indeed, many of our special events would literally not be possible without the enthusiastic support of scores of volunteers! Our volunteers fill many roles, from role players at our special events to office assistants, from children’s games coordinator to garden assistants and many more. Volunteer activities may include:
Welcoming our visitors at the Tyco Visitors Center;
Engaging young visitors in games and hands-on activities;
Supporting our archaeology program with cleaning, cataloguing and researching objects;
Working among the Museum’s many period gardens doing seasonal tasks such as planting, weeding, deadheading and pruning;
Assisting museum teachers with greeting busloads of children, hands-on activities and Museum exploration;
Helping the development and marketing staff to organize and prepare materials for mailing;
And numerous other important activities that keep Strawbery Banke Museum moving forward!
