Strawbery Banke is about the people whose stories form the living history of this waterfront "Puddle Dock" neighborhood of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The history is formed from the diaries and letters of those who lived here, allowing their recreation through costumed role-players; from the archaeological evidence that supports public records; from interpreters, staff, volunteers, trustees, donors and members who keep the story alive; and from visitors of all ages who form the collective, living memory of their experience here -- that is Strawbery Banke.
A cultural, community and economic initiative to restore and lease underutilized properties at Strawbery Banke Museum in the historic center of downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
