Experience the Past! Make and eat an authentic 18th century dinner in Wheelwright House!
2014 Hearth Cooking Workshops
Feel the warmth of the crackling fire, smell aromatic herbs from the kitchen garden, see coals glow under the bake-kettle and step back in time as you rekindle century old cooking traditions. Work with local and seasonal foods as you grind, whip, season, roast, boil, bake and enjoy an authentic and delicious 18th century hearth-cooked meal.
Experience the past and savor the results of your hands-on participation in the skill and camaraderie of cooking around an open hearth in Strawbery Banke’s historic Wheelwright House. Each independent workshop is led by Strawbery Banke Museum instructors who demonstrate hearth-cooking techniques during the regular Museum season and special events.
Cost: $55/Members, $65/Non-members per workshop. Click here for Hearth cooking workshop registration form.
