Ages 9-11

Learn about history by living it. Use reproduction clothing, toys, and tools in a historical setting to discover what life was like for children in the past. The camp will culminate with the opportunity to perform in character at the Museum for friends and family.

History at Play: Growing up Victorian * This camp is currently full for 2010, however a waiting list is available.*

June 28 - July 2, 2010, 9:00-3:00
Try living in the time of Tom Sawyer or the Little Women. Dress in period costume, play early baseball and graces, make crafts, and cook on a cookstove.

History at Play: Growing up 20th-Century

July 19-23, 2010, 9:00-3:00
Become a child growing up in the early 20th-Century. Play popular games from 1919, bake make-do recipes from World War II, and discover the latest fads of the 1950s.

History at Play: Growing Up Colonial

August 9-13, 2010, 9:00-3:00 * This camp session is currently full for 2010, however a waiting list is available.*
August 16-20, 2010, 9:00-3:00
Experience George Washington’s time. Wear colonial clothing, use the tools and skills of the 1700s, and cook on the open hearth!

Registration will begin on Monday, February 1, 2010.
