Come be a part of history in this rare opportunity to influence a key exhibit in one of New Hampshire's oldest waterfront neightborhoods!
The latest addition to Strawbery Banke Museum is the Cotton Tenant House that opened in late 2008. Originally built in 1834 as a tenant house, it was home to seamen and immigrants until it was turned over to Strawbery Banke in 1970. Much of the home is original, and has been painstakingly restored with an emphasis on preserving and fixing, rather than replacing. Visitors to the museum have the opportunity to decide how they would like to see the interior restored, based on evidence provided in binders containing wallpaper samples, paint analysis and architectural drawings. What story should this building tell? Computer stations are located inside of the 1834 building for you to share your ideas on what you would like to see happen with this exciting exhibit.
Pictured are just a few of the interior spaces inside of the partially restored building. |
