Rarely seen items from the museum’s costume collection are displayed alongside the creations of 15 contemporary designers in six of the museum’s historic houses, from the 1740 embroidered London Lady’s Shoe to the fanciful 2012 Emma Hope shoe it inspired. Through October 31, 2012. 7 days a week, 10-5.

The Heritage Houses at Strawbery Banke

A cultural, community and economic initiative to restore and lease underutilized properties at Strawbery Banke Museum in the historic center of downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Click here for details.

The new gundalow, PISCATAQUA, built in the summer of 2011 under the boat shed on our grounds was named and launched to great fanfare. For video of the great move to the launch site and the launch itself, click here. Starting in Summer 2012, visitors will be able to travel the river on-board.

The Herb Society of America NorthEast Seacoast Unit 2012 Lecture Series

TUES May 29, 2012 -- Strawbery Banke Museum welcomes Brian and Cindy Tibbetts, growers of over 75 varieties of clematis at Hummingbird Farm Greenhouse in Turner, Maine for the program, Clematis, Queen of the Flowering Vine, co-sponsored by The Herb Society of America’s NorthEast Seacoast Unit and Strawbery Banke Museum.
